I would recommend contacting your wireless provider about something called “tethering”. With at&t, I think there is a 30 dollar a month charge. I’m not quite sure what they charge for this service. So to answer your question, it is possible to use your cell phone as a modem for your laptop. Once you get the particulars with your carrier out of the way, there are tutorials on CNET that will walk you through the process of connecting your phone to your laptop as a modem. I am currently using my blackberry as a modem with my laptop.

There sure is, but what you would need to do is first make sure you have the DATA Bundle in your price plan. Many people are under the impression that BB Price Plan which includes unlimited internet and email means they can use the phone for internet (as modem) but that is not true. When you TETHER (using your phone as a modem) the phone company bills you as DATA Charges.

Once you have made certain of that you would need to Create a DUN (Dial Up Network) connection on laptop.
