How long do you need to charge the battery for the first time for a new Samsung i900 Omnia ?
What about routine charge, how many hours?
Do i charge in standby mode or off mode? After the battery is dry out, how many hour do you need to charge for normal charge?
well it says charge for 24 hours and it will be all ready to use. But it will turn on already but it will die quickly. I suggest 6 hours at the max . Trust me i am a phone-maniac!

Hi There,
Because lithium ion batteries do not have a memory like some of the older technologies such as NIMH or NICAD, you don’t need to worry about damaging the battery by “not charging it correctly”. You can’t damage it this way. If you plugged it in and charged it for half an hour, the only thing that would happen is that you wouldn’t get much battery life before having to recharge it. Usually six hours is sufficient to charge most new lithium ion batteries, but you won’t harm it by leaving it in longer either.
Sometimes people recommend “cycling” your batteries. However, deep cycling has little or no affect on a lithium ion battery. This is old info from the days of NIMH and NICAD battery technologies that did develop memory effects. Deep cycling it will just waste your charge discharge cycles.
Here’s another good tip. When you finally kill your battery, look for a replacement from UpStart Battery. You can find them on amazon.com and also at the site below, among other places. They come with a lifetime warranty, so if you kill it again it will be on their dime to replace it, haha.
Take care – Todd
