Why does Verizon charge a data fee on the samsung omnia?
I want the Samsung omnia i910 and verizon is telling me that i\’ve to have a 30.00 dollar a month data plan, the phone has wifi! Why do u still have to pay??

You pay because they want money. They only WANT you to use WiFi if 3G is not available. Cell phone companies lose money on phones unless they sell for full price. They make it up by tacking on data,text,etc.
The phone is a smart phone. Verizon requires the data plan on all smart phones. They’ve had too many customers “mistakenly” run up thousands of dollars in data charges. Requiring the data plan puts an end to that.
in area were 3g isnt avaliable you use WiFi but you still have to pay the $30 because its a smart phone, so if you dont want to pay them than get a regualr phone
