I know this sounds like a… somewhat daft question, but it *is* in your car, right? GPS needs line-of-sight with the sky, so it can recieve signal from global positioning sattelites

    Try calling TomTom’s tech support.

  3. BILL says:

Because you have no GPS signal.

I get that on my TOM TOM navigator too. Normally when I first switch it on….when it takes a few minutes to “warm up”.

just go drive your car then the tomtom will respond if it doesn’t u should reinstall the software ;)

I have the same problem & the suggestions stated here are not right. After countles searches, I come to find out that some 3gs GPS chips are unable to grab the signal. I was told to by a tommtom kit, but another user said they did & it didn’t work. I tried deleting & reinstalling but no luck. The only thing I could suggest is to contact apple & get credited for the app. If anyone has a solution that works please help. I just moved to Chicago area, and the roads here do not run parellel or perpendicular, so I get lost easily.

I hope you get a better answer than I stated good luck
