Touch screen on Samsung Omnia wont work… why and how to fix?
i\’ve a brand new samsung omnia (which hasnt been working perfectly anyway) and now the touch screen wont work. All the surrounding buttons work fine, and the screen itself isnt frozen (it still changes if you turn the phone around). Is there a simple way for me to get it unfrozen, or do i need to get it into a verizon store?
try a soft reset (stick the stylus in the small hole next to the power button)
go to “settings” >”system” > “screen” and realign it
if that doesn’t work then you will have to hard reset it (instructions http://search.vzw.com/?do=viewdoc&id=21446&supportview=1&p=4366)
everything on the phones memory will be erased and it will be like new but everything on the internal “storage card” will remain
it did not work even after a new rom install
The exact same thing happened to me.
My touch screen wouldn’t respond to anything.
So these are the steps I took;
1. Turn OFF the phone;
2. Press VolumeUp and Lock buttons (do not release);
3. Press Call/Green and then HangUp/Red (do not release all buttons);
4. Phone should Vibrate and turn on;
5. Count to 3 and release all buttons;
You will have a choice to FORMAT or CANCEL the operation.
To choose format, hit the call/send key.
Voila,
It erases your phone completely but your touch screen will work!
