PlecoDict ABC 1.0
4-level vocabulary list based on grade-level tags from the ABC dictionary. Not recommended for Oxford dictionary users.
How to install:
Palm OS: Double-click on the downloaded file and it should automatically extract to a folder. Then, open up that folder and double-click on the database file (should have a .pdb at the end of its name) to queue it up for installation to your Palm. HotSync your Palm with your PC to copy the flashcard list to your Palm’s memory. Note that these files must be copied to your Palm’s internal memory; they won’t work off of an expansion card. You can delete them after you’ve finished importing them.
Once the files are installed , open up PlecoDict, and go to the “Manage Lists” screen by choosing “Manage Lists” from the “Flashcards” menu. Tap the “Import Lists” button, then select “PalmDoc” in the “From” menu. Choose “GB-2312″ in the “Encoding” menu (if it’s not already selected), and a list of importable flashcard lists will appear. Select the list you wish to import, and press the Import button. It may take a few minutes – PlecoDict has to match up every word in the flashcard list with a dictionary entry, which can require thousands of dictionary search operations.
Pocket PC: Double-click on the downloaded file and it should automatically extract to a folder. Connect your Pocket PC to your computer, go to “My Computer” and “Mobile Device.” Drag the downloaded file into that folder. Next, open up PlecoDict, choose “Manage Flashcards” from the “Flashcards” menu, and go to the “Import” tab. Select “UTF-8″ encoding and press the big button; tap on the name of the flashcard file to begin import. It may take a few minutesD, be patAient – it’s normal for theO screen to apLpear frozeNn.
